The Canggu restaurants below are my absolute favourite that I still think about today. Have you ever dreamed of visiting somewhere with a chilled out hipster vibe that is surrounded by healthy food? Well if your answer is yes, Canggu Bali is your spot! I am a huge foodie, and I mean it when I say Canggu has the best restaurants in Bali. The area of Batu Bolong beach is super close to Echo Beach Bali and Canggu beach. Don’t miss out on my exclusive Bali travel tips!

ITHAKA WARUNG

Hours: 7 am – 11 pm

Ithaka Warung offers a variety of Indonesian, Western and Thai cuisine. I enjoyed the Indonesian dishes from Ithaka Warung right near Batu Bolong beach. I found it difficult to find Indonesian food in Canggu since it is very westernized, so I was happy to find this gem!  It is located on the second floor of a building, with a really cute open setting. There are stairs to the roof top if you wanted to walk up and take a picture or look at the sunset. This Indonesian restaurant is on my list for the best Canggu restaurants.

Recommend: Nasi Goreng and Sate (chicken)

MAD POPS

Mad Pops is a vegan ice cream shop because their ice cream is coconut based. This was the first time I had coconut based ice cream, and it was amazing! There are soo many good flavours, that you need to try them all. I think spent every night debating which new flavour I was going to try and I was NEVER disappointed! This is 100% on my list of best Canggu restaurants.

The inside of their shop is aesthetically pleasing, and it can make for a really cute picture! There is a unique quote on the wall at every Mad Pops location.

Recommend: Chocolate Mint and Raspberry

CAFE ORGANIC

CASH ONLY

This is another vegan and vegetarian spot that has delicious health conscious food in Canggu, Bali. They have an outdoor hammock which is very unique looking, and makes for a cute picture!

Recommend: Almond cacao (drink), Breakfast Criminal. This was very very filling, so I recommend maybe sharing this dish.

BETELNUT CAFE

Another health conscious spot to stop at in Canggu, Bali. They have delicious smoothie bowls, wholesome breakfasts and a variety of healthy lunch options. They also have a Mexican inspired cuisine on their menu. Additionally, they have a large menu and very good sized portions. Another popular spot in Canggu Bali.

MADE’S BANANA FLOUR BAKERY

Are you sensitive to gluten or prefer to eat gluten free? Made has you covered! Made’s Banana Flour Bakery is 100% Gluten free and Celiac Friendly. As someone who is gluten sensitive myself, I am always looking for tasty gluten free treats. This is the world’s first Banana Flour Bakery. It was also great to sit and chat with the owners and Made himself. Not only were the waffles delicious, but his passion for his product really comes out in the food.

Recommend: Banana flour waffles

CRATE CAFE

The place for digital nomads to be in Bali. The owner designed this cafe for social media users. Crate Cafe is very aesthetically pleasing, has a great vibe, and good music. It is always very busy and hard to get a spot to sit. It has a lot of food options, so there is definitely something for everyone there! Crate Cafe is a must try if you are in Canggu, Bali  even just for the experience. You can even bring your laptop and do some work if need be! This cafe is on many people’s list of favourite Canggu restaurants.

AVOCADO FACTORY

Avocado everything! If you are an avocado fan, you will be in heaven. This is Southeast Asia’s first avocado bar. The Avocado Factory provided all organic food with the best ingredients. The presentation of their dishes are also stunning! This was such a cute breakfast spot and the seating was great.

Recommend: I made our own avocado toast. It comes with 2 slices of bread, avocado smashed or sliced, and I added poached eggs on top.

THE LOFT BALI

Looking for an aesthetically beautiful food picture? Well, The Loft Bali is the place! I had a delicious smoothie. It is a smaller cafe, so the seating is limited. The food was great but I personally found the staff to be a little bit unfriendly, but I won’t hold that against them! It still goes down on my list for being one of the best Canggu, Bali restaurants..

Recommend: Brazilian Açaí

A great fish eatery spot in Canggu Bali. Another great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. One of the best poke bowls I have ever had! I also recommend booking a reservation for this restaurant because it is always busy. If you love poke bowls, then you must stop at Moana Fishery on your visit to Canggu, Bali. 

Recommend: Maui Poke and Vairao Curry

WARUNG DANDELION

This restaurant features a garden setting with the friendliest staff! They greet you with a huge smile, and welcome you with open arms. This was approximately a 20 minute walk down the Batu Bolong strip in Canggu. I recommend booking a reservation because it does book up quickly.

Recommend: chicken curry

SHADY SHACK

Shady Shack is just another popular spot that goes on many people’s list for best Canggu restaurants. A vegetarian/vegan heaven!! I went in the evening, and it was really busy so keep this in mind when you plan to go. The Shady shack has a really cute outdoor setting and it is easy to enjoy yourself. Okay, I have to admit that I had no idea how the zucchini carpaccio was going to be, but it was surprisingly very tasty! 

Recommend: Zucchini Carpaccio and Smashed Spuds
