Wondering where the best places to stay in Bali are? I am giving you the 4 best Ubud hotels to stay when you are in Bali! When I travel, I am very picky about where I stay. I like to stay in an inexpensive place, but a clean place. Also, I love to walk everywhere. In this case, I must find an inexpensive, clean AND central place to stay at.
To me, walking makes the trip because you are able to get to know the culture, people and area so much more. If you want to hear about the best places to stay in Ubud, Bali then keep reading!
In Ubud, the places we stayed at were on quiet streets just off of Jalan Raya Ubud. Jalan Raya Ubud is the street you will want to spend a lot of your time on. The Traditional Art Market, traditional food market, Campuhan Ridge Walk, and some of the best places to eat in Ubud are just off or on this main street.
I find staying in homestays or guesthouses that are locally run is a great way to experience the culture of Ubud and get to know the amazing Balinese people.

Ubud Hotels
#1: SHAKARA GUESTHOUSE

This guesthouse is a family-owned property that features 4 rooms. The family lives on the property and is there to talk if you need anything. The hospitality was definitely the shining star of this guesthouse. The family was beyond kind and welcoming. I am a strong believer in supporting families over bigger properties. The room was very spacious, cute and clean. We had breakfast included in our price and it was a really cute menu, the banana pancakes were amazing!
You get a very tranquil feeling here and lots of good vibes. As you can see below, they have a beautiful pool with greenery around. I was only able to stay here for a few nights due to their availability, but I would have stayed longer if we could! This was a highlight of my Ubud experience, and it goes down as one of the best places to stay in Ubud, Bali.
This was one of my favourite locations in Ubud, and I would say it was one of the best places to stay in Bali. It is centrally located, just a little walk up the road from Ubud city center.
#2: SENS HOTEL & SPA

Sens Hotel and Spa is a good option if you want a hotel instead of a guesthouse. It is a bit pricier than a guesthouse, but can still be affordable. This is a large scale hotel and is very clean. Although it is not a family run hotel, the staff is very kind! The location is close to the city center but a bit more of a walk.
This located was perfect for going to The Yoga Barn. The price was more pricey then my typical budget, but this can definitely make the top 3 list for Ubud hotels to stay at in Bali.
#3: AMOYA INN

This is a boutique-style Ubud accommodation that is just off the main road in Ubud. It is in the city center so everything is within walking distance. The room size is large and very cute looking. There is also a swimming pool that is kept very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is another option to make your list for the top Ubud hotels to stay at on a budget.
Ubud Villas
#1: Chapung Sebali Resort and Spa *Luxury option

Ubud villas? Yes please! Okay so, this accommodation definitely does not fit in my budget category. BUT, it is an option if you are willing to splurge a little bit on your dream vacation. For those non budget travelers, you will love this Ubud accommodation.
This is a hotel that offers a beautiful spa and infinity pool overlooking the rainforest. It is more like one of those Ubud Villas that you see images on Google for. It is picture perfect in so many ways and is the place to be at if you are wanting a luxury Ubud accommodation.
Secret tip: you do not have to stay at this Ubud accommodation to use the pool! But there is an entrance fee for non residents of the hotel. The accommodation is located a little bit outside of Ubud center but this only adds to the tranquility of the atmosphere. If you are looking at a list of top Ubud hotels to stay at, this must be at the top of your list. The hospitality here was amazing at this Ubud accommodation.

Going to Bali is near the top of my bucketlist and it looks like all the hotels are so dreamy. And the price tag makes me feel like I could stay there a month!
You can honestly stay there for a month on a super low budget!
Bali is super high on my to visit list! All of these places look like fun places to stay. The Chapung Sebali Resort and Spa looks amazing!! (and so do all of the drinks)

Spent a month in Ubud in a villa in the rice fields a few years ago. Loved it but it was so much busier than when I first visited. How is it now? Probably Covid has quietened it down now. Would love to return. The family owned guesthouse appeals to me the most.

I’ve never been to Ubud–or even Bali–but I’ve always wanted to go. I really like your way of evaluating a hotel–price, cleanliness and proximity to city center. And I would agree that I like to walk so I can meet the locals and experience the neighborhoods.

I loved Ubud. It was tranquil and calm back when I visited in 1996. I loved the little guest house I stayed in. As soon as I walked out onto my patio in the morning, a lady brought a tray of fresh cut fruit, and then continued with dish after dish of breakfast delights. It was such a relaxing way to start the day. It was just around the corner from a little second hand book shop, so I got a couple of books and spent a lot of time swinging in a hammock.
Yes!! that was exactly like Shakara Guesthouse. They would wait until we got out of the room and they would be waiting with the breakfast. It was amazing! And heading the sounds of the rainforest was also incredible!
When we visited Bali, we only went to Ubud for a day trip. That day trip convinced us we need to spend more time there if we return to Bali. It is great that there is such a variety of spot to stay. I must admit Would be looking for the luxury option. Love when a hotel is known for its hospitality.
Yes!! One day is definitely not enough to stay in Ubud. Jungle Fish Bali is like a paradise!
